Winter photo sessions are so much fun! I get asked a lot about whether there is a best time of year to have a photo session of if there is a bad time to have a photo session. The answer is no! Any time of year is a great time to have your photos done. Don’t wait for a “perfect” time of year or even a milestone in your life.
I think the best photo sessions are when you and your loved ones are showing up as yourselves. No matter the time of year. No matter if you’re celebrating a milestone or simply celebrating your life and where you’re at.
I have two tips for winter photo sessions. The first is dress for the weather. If you’re cold during your photo session it will most likely translate into the photos. That doesn’t mean you have to bundle in your biggest winter jacket. Staying warm and cute during a photo session is all about layers!
Choosing an activity you both love or a location that is special to you is a great way to make your couples’ photo session more fun and candid. It helps to take the edge off and get rid of some nerves you might be experiencing too.
Choosing to do an activity like cross country skiing for your winter photo session is such a unique idea! Check out the photos from this couple’s cross country skiing photo session below.
I have another really cute winter engagement session here.
